HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Propress was founded by fashion importer and entrepreneur Brian Fillery in 1980 and was the first British company to create professional garment and fabric steamers for leading fashion houses in the UK and Europe.
Like every great product, the Propress steamer was invented to solve an industry problem. Fillery knew that appearances mattered in fashion retail and the need to reduce time between product delivery and display was key to sales.

Confident that fashion buyers and merchandisers would go wild for the restorative power of steam, Fillery and business partner Tim Oliver built their first steamer in the summer of 1980 and Propress was born.
